Overview

In May 2023, DevelopmentWA invited stakeholder and public comment on the draft Latitude 32 Design Guidelines Amendment.

In line with the Hope Valley-Wattleup Redevelopment Project Master Plan, the draft Design Guidelines were open for public comment until Friday 2 June 2023.

A new version of the Design Guidelines was required to accommodate the following:

• Development Area 4 (DA4), Hope Valley Wattleup Redevelopment Project Master Plan Amendment with the imminent approval for the DA4 Structure Plan.
• Administrative changes to improve legibility and readability.
• Sustainability control measures to reduce Green House Gas emissions.

Summary of public submissions

Nine public submissions were received during the May - June 2023 advertising period for the Latitude 32 Design Guidelines (Version 5), comprising six submissions from local and state government agencies and three submissions from landowners within the Latitude 32 Industry Zone. The submissions were generally supportive and have been resolved through revisions to sections 1.4.1, 1.5, 3.5, 3.14, 3.15.4 and 7.

Adoption of Design Guidelines

After consideration of the public submissions, in accordance with section 2.4.3 of the Hope Valley-Wattleup Redevelopment Project Master Plan, the Latitude 32 Design Guidelines (Version 5) have been adopted by DevelopmentWA's Executive General Manager Planning and Transition.

Copies of the Adopted Design Guidelines are available for inspection at the offices of DevelopmentWA, the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, the cities of Kwinana and Cockburn or online via the DevelopmentWA website.
